Ship-to-ship (STS) oil hoses are flexible strings specifically designed for maritime transfers. They are used to transfer oil or other liquid products between two ships anchored side by side. These hoses are typically made of oil-resistant rubber and high-strength reinforcing materials, enabling them to withstand high pressure, dynamic loads, and harsh environments during offshore operations, ensuring safe and reliable transport.
As a professional manufacturer of marine fluid transfer hoses, CDSR has a deep understanding of the actual conditions and product requirements of offshore operations, and has specially designed and manufactured CDSR ship-to-ship (STS) hoses that meet stringent marine standards. This product not only meets international standards, but also demonstrates excellent safety and durability in actual operation.
Design concept: with maritime operation safety as the core
CDSR understands that the STS operating environment is complex and ever-changing - relative motion of ships, changes in sea state, fluctuations in fluid pressure, and risks of rough handling all place extremely high demands on hoses. Therefore, the design philosophy of CDSR ship-to-ship hoses always revolves around one core principle: ensuring safety in offshore operations.
Specifically, this is reflected in the following two key design features:
(1) Heavy duty design - five times or more safety factor
CDSR STS hoses feature a heavy duty structural design with a pressure resistance safety factor exceeding five times the working pressure. This means that in actual operation, even if there is a sudden pressure shock or accidental overload, the hose can still maintain its structural integrity, greatly reducing the risk of bursting or leakage, and effectively preventing environmental accidents and personal injury.
(2) No permanent deformation - advantages of spiral wire structure
Traditional hoses often suffer permanent deformation after being subjected to rough bending or vacuum collapse. The CDSR hose uses a spiral steel wire structure, which prevents it from undergoing permanent deformation even when subjected to severe bending or vacuum during operation. This feature significantly extends the service life of the hose and improves operational reliability.
Product Specifications and Selection
CDSR offers a variety of specifications to meet the needs of different operating conditions:
Length: Standard lengths available are 9.1m, 10m, 10.7m and 11.8m, and custom lengths up to 12m are also available upon request.
Media compatibility: Suitable for conveying liquid petroleum products with an aromatic content of no more than 60%, covering most crude oil and refined oil operation scenarios.
Flange rating: Standard configuration is ANSI B 16.5 Class 150, but Class 300 flanges are also available upon request to meet higher pressure requirements.
Flange face type: The standard is flat face, but raised face can also be provided upon request to ensure sealing compatibility with marine manifold systems.
Compliant with international standards and safety regulations
The design and manufacture of CDSR ship-to-ship hoses strictly follow the relevant guidelines of the International Maritime Organization (IMO) and comply with the requirements of OCIMF (International Maritime Forum of Oil Companies) and EN 1765 standards. The hose end is equipped with a high-efficiency sealing joint to ensure no leakage during transport and to support electrical continuity (continuous or discontinuous) as needed to prevent the risk of static buildup.
Supporting operations and personnel safety
In addition to the high reliability of the product itself, CDSR also emphasizes that hoses are only one part of STS safe operation. In actual operation, it is necessary to use hose handling equipment (such as cranes, winches, tension monitoring systems), environmental protection measures, and specially trained personnel to ensure safe operation.
