Increase safety of reel systems

In some applications, a reel system is installed on the ship in order to enable a convenient and highly efficient hose storage and operation on the ship. With the reel system, the hose string can be rolled up and retracted around the reeling drum after the oil loading or discharging operation. The hose string can be wound one or more layers on the reeling drum. The CDSR catenary windable hoses are designed with a better flexibility and minimum bending radius, usually 4 ~ 6 times the nominal hose diameter.

Reel systems on FPSO play a key role in oil transfer. Operators of FPSO must mitigate safety risks caused by collisions between FPSO and tanker vessels, tanker drift, unexpected pressure surges and transfer failures during unloading transfers. By using Marine Breakaway Couplings (MBC) or Emergency Release Couplings (ERC), operators can further reduce safety risks during unloading transfers.

MBC provides an identifiable safety separation point for marine hose transmission systems. When extreme pressure fluctuations or excessive tensile loads occur in the hose system, MBC will automatically shut off product flow and prevent system damage, reducing risk and increasing the safety of loading and unloading operations. The MBC has fully automatic closing functions, requiring no external power supply, and no accessories, connections or umbilical cables. MBC is a two-way mechanical seal. Once it is disengaged, it can ensure that the valve is closed safely, and the medium in the string can be sealed in the pipeline to avoid environmental pollution. This is very important to improve the safety of oil discharge operations.

We have developed solutions specifically for reel applications on FSPO. CDSR Single Carcass / Double Carcass Oil Hose has excellent flexibility, which enables the hose to adapt to complex winding requirements. The structure and materials of CDSR hoses make them have better pressure resistance and corrosion resistance, so they can withstand high pressure, heavy loads and erosion of seawater and other substances, and have a long service life even in challenging sea conditions, making loading and unloading operations safer and more reliable.

CDSR operates under the management systems conforming to QHSE standards, CDSR Marine/Oil hoses are certified and manufactured according to the latest international standard, CDSR can also provide customized hoses. Third party inspection is available if required
